Sturdy, warm, climb great., March 14, 2018

Great boot. Just got me through a winter ascent of Mt. Washington in NH. My feet stayed warm and dry. Was ok to walk in (as ok as a rigid soled boot can be I guess). Worked great with my step in crampons.
One note. Break these in before using them. I didn’t do enough, and they were very uncomfortable for the first few hours of hiking. I thought I had made a mistake in buying these, but by mid-day they had opened up a bit and stop pinching spots. They got more comfortable and my feet warmed up (they had been restricting circulation some I think) You’ll feel a little silly maybe wearing these around town or on your local hiking trail, but I can’t recommend enough that you find a way to break these in before committing to them on a bigger climb.
As many others note, they’ll run just a touch small, so move up a half to full size. You’ll be wearing thick-ish socks and kicking into ice/snow, you don’t really want your toes contacting the front when you are just standing around.

Great fit, very comfortable, but will need to break them in a little. The extra tongue really helps lock down my heels. Very well crafted, made in Italy, you can see and feel the quality. Can’t wait to strap some crampons on and take these babies out for a spin!
