A product that does exactly what it says it will do! I wanted a small amp to reasonably reproduce the acoustic sound of my banjo. I have a very high quality acoustic pickup (Fishman) and am using a ultra high quality Monster Cable. This amp lets me tweak the bass-mid-treble less or more along with the gain and then a master to get a good natural sound. It is not “perfect”. But, I didn’t want to spend another $1,000 to go into that market place. For the money, this amp is fantastic! AND…on the rare occasion when I take my acoustic instrument onto a WIRED country music stage, this amp also has an XLR port to patch your sound directly to the PA mixing panel. So, I will be able to be heard without the feedback from trying to use a mic on my banjo. For my friends that might think I have joined the evil wired empire, I say NO WAY! I am unwired and all acoustic 99% of the time using mics only along with all other bluegrass instruments (except maybe the whining bass players). BUT, for the 1% of the time when I want to get on stage with my country music wired friends, this little amp is going to do the trick perfectly!

For the price, which as you can see, is outrageous for such a small amp, I was expecting something that would blow my mind away and that’s exactly what I got!

The sound quality is nearly identical to the sound my guitar puts out on its own, even when used with a passive pickup! I personally use a K&K pre-amp with this amp to dial in my sound with even more control but honestly, unless you’re playing a large gig, you don’t need it.

You can crank the volume up pretty high and get loud, yet clear sound. The extra line input is great for adding a mic to the amp and if you use a mixer as we do for our shows, there’s a direct XLR output on the back to send the signal right to your mixer so it can be amplified even further through your sound system.

The on-board effects sound great. I don’t really use them as I can control my effects right on the mixer but for small gigs where you won’t have a mixer, the effects will suit you well.

This is the perfect acoustic amp for small gigs at bars and coffee shops. For its size, it is loud enough to push your sound right over the noise of the crowd, all the way to the back of the room.
