Great computer overall. I am a science graduate student that often requires the use of computer.

I would recommend buying a 21.5 inch 4k retina iMac though for a college/graduate student, the big screen is nice and gives you more space to work on things instead of a 13 inch display. If portability is an issue and you can only purchase one device for overall use then I would recommend this.

    – The Touch Bar can be annoying in the beginning (i.e. escape button is now a touch button, you used to be able to adjust screen brightness/volume without looking at the keyboard, now you kind of have to)

    – Battery life hasn’t really changed compared to the last year’s model

    – According to benchmark the processor on this computer is faster than the previous year’s.

    – SSD is really fast.

I purchased this through Amazon with one-day shipping, though it arrived late so I bought it at an Apple store and returned it.

EDIT: The computer crashes often, anywhere between once a day to 5 times a day. Sometimes the computer completely freezes requiring a hard restart, often Safari stops working, keyboard acting funny, Touch Bar randomly stops working, Finder doesn’t haywire, etc. It does seems like after OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, Apple’s Software has gone downhill dramatically (shout out to iOS too since like iOS 7). Full of bugs, and with every new release instead of fixing the old bugs they tried to push more features into the OS.

Personally, the last thing I would worry about is some extra fancy features if the basic functions don’t even work.

When you think of Apple you automatically think expensive if your anything like me. When purchasing this laptop I was skeptical on rather if I should get a fully equipped HP, Dell, or just get an Apple. Just an Apple was my choice because of the brand name, but also because Apple products are always one of the best designs on the market. Apple products are one of the most durable brands on the market as well. With the fully the aluminum body, touch bar, and superior speakers this computer is undeniable. One thing that I do not like is the ports. There are four ports on the laptop, but the ports are USB-C which makes the normal functions a little more difficult to get used to. When it comes to Apple the flaws or the unexpected changes that may be an inconvenience is also what created this brand as superior and is the reason why they can charge you three arms and three legs for a computer. The brand name is established, the style is second to none, and the computer is also one of the best offered. Once you get past the honeymoon phase then buyers remorse it’s overall worth it.

Love the MacBook! Syncs effortlessly w other Apple devices. Depending on what programs being used battery can go down fast. Amazing graphics etc.
