    This review is from: Acer Aspire 7 Casual Gaming Laptop, 15.6″ Full HD IPS Display, Intel 6-Core i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB, 8GB DDR4, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Fingerprint Reader, Windows 10 64bit, A715-72G-71CT (Personal Computers)
    I recently bought the A715-72G-71CT and I enjoyed using it for about 3 weeks. However, just today, while I was doing my work, it froze. After it froze, I tried to shut it down by holding the power button down for a few seconds. When I tried to turn it on again, it would only show a black screen. The Acer logo won’t show and Windows won’t boot. All this time, the backlit keyboard turns on and it turns off. When it turns on again, it only stays on while my monitor is showing a black screen. I tried connecting it to an external monitor but it’s still the same result. Until the issue can be resolved, I’m gonna give this product low marks. However, I’d be willing to take it all back if I could get help with this. I’d hate to see this product get a bad review. But I still have to be honest that my experience with this laptop was disappointing due to what happened.

    ***UPDATE***
    Thank goodness Acer has an open community. Since I’ve been using laptops with external battery packs, I didn’t know how to disconnect a battery pack that was internal. Thankfully, I decided to post my problems to the Acer community in their official website. I posted my problem there as accurately as possible and some members there gave a response within a few hours. They linked to me a do it yourself Youtube link and told me what I should try to do. After the reset, it turned on as if nothing happened. Very happy with how things turned out. If I could just give this product a six out of 5 stars, I would for the following reasons:

    1. It has a Core i7 8th Gen, 8750H processer with a Geforce GTX 1050 Ti and 8GB RAM aat 2666Mhz (***NOTE: The product description states that it has a 2400Mhz RAM. It’s actually 2666Mhz. If ever you’re thinking of upgrading, buy a 2666Mhz);
    2. All of that for 949.99. A laptop with these specs would break the 1000 dollar limit. You end-up saving a couple dollars for this product;
    3. Since I’m the discreet gamer, bringing this around with me outside in public won’t really turn heads and I can always do office work with it.

    Cons of this are that it has a LOT of bloatware and for the monitor, if you’re playing and the sun happens to shine down on your screen, it won’t be as clear. But the Pros of this device actually outweigh the Cons. The Cons are so minor that you can overlook them and just enjoy what you laptop offers.

    If you’re considering buying a good gaming laptop with a $1000.00 budget, I highly recommend this laptop.

    I bought this product expecting a economic build. It worked well for the short time I had it. Within the first week, I found a bug that would cause the laptop to freeze. Then, the laptop would light up and not respond with a blank screen. I called the help support, and, they walked me through how to reset the battery. It worked perfect after this. Until, the same issue happened twice more. Understand, one of the reason why the laptop is cheaper is because they live with greater chances of producing an error. It works great the vast majority. I used it every night for a week and couldn’t recreate the issue. While using it, I found it a pleasure to use. It kept up decent frames while playing games and performed great with Matlab. The build quality finally got under my skin. I eventually decided to go with a different laptop.
